The canoe for those who need large carry capacity combined with high stability on flat waters and in rivers. For years the 16.5’ DR has been the no. 1 choice of expeditions all over the world. The canoe is suitable for 2-3 persons with gear, or 2 adults and 2 children. ALLY 16.5´ DR has the same shape as 15’ DR but a longer, less rockered keel line, which increases directional stability.
This canoe has been paddled in heavy white water and on rivers with great technical difficulties with splendid success - making it the optimal choice under all conditions.

Ordered the 16.5’ Ally Canoe for delivery to Alaska. All went as planned and it arrived in good shape. Rhodri was great to work with, answering our questions and sorting the customs and shipping details for us. Looking forward to using it in spring time!!

I have had many amazing adventures in the Ally Canoe thru NordicLife! Rhodri from Nordic Life was also super helpful when I needed a new keel... Yea that river was an adventure... I can't recommend Ally canoes highly enough!

Got the small Ally 7 days after ordering from Rhodri. All parts there ,instructions ok but need to be read and then correctly identify the parts. Our previous Ally 20 yrs ago we used to climb with ,assemble and disassemble. Now at 70+ light weight is the main consideration. It weighs about 14kg without seats( the seats are a pain to get in). We use Ortlieb rucksacks and Montane sacks. These are comfortable and give the Ally a lower centre of gravity. We now keep it fully erected all the time.. Paddling with a double paddle keeps the canoe on a straight fast line. Carrying capacity is good we carry two adults and a golden retriever as well as backpacking gear.
We wonder why we struggled with Gatz ,Oldtown and Prodigy canoes ,it's now so easy to get on a roof rack single handed.
