Brynje Arctic Double is the warmest base layer in the Brynje range. Made to be worn as a base layer in cold conditions, or as a layering piece, this innovative mesh and merino combination delivers warmth and wicking performance when you need it.


An outer Merino layer of 220g/m2 combined with an inner layer of Polypropylene mesh. This traps air to keep you warm, while allowing your body to breath. Moisture vapour is  released through the mesh, and away from the body. This allows for excellent body temperature regulation in cold conditions.


This is a firm favourite with all who use it, with users taking it to the North and South Poles, Mount Everest and even to wear at home after a cold day skiing!

Washing your Merino Wool product

  • Machine wash on wool program
  • Do not use chlorine or soak garment
  • Use wool detergent that does not contain enzymes / bleaches.
  • The garment should not be tumble-dried .
  • Remember not too much laundry in the washing machine.
  • Wool does not get dirty in the same way as other clothing, therefore, it is not necessary to wash it as often

Very comfortable and more importantly WARM!

Recently bought some merino clothing for a trip to the Arctic. Temperature below minus 28deg C . Brnje mesh lines merino zip below was perfect , very comfortable to wear and a great layer. Nice a long so kept your derrière covered too!

Best Base Layer

Perfect layering piece for an Arctic Cross-country Skiing Expedition in Norway

I needed high quality, breathable, moisture-wicking base layers for a 7-day cross-country skiing expedition across the Finnmark Plateau above the Arctic Circle in Norway. Rhodri with Nordiclife recommended these and they have become a new favorite. I would layer these over the Brynje Super Thermo Top on extra cold days or at nights to keep me dry and warm. This piece breathes, wicks away any moisture, can be worn several days in a row and not smell and is so soft and comfortable. It always felt like a warm hug when I put it on.

This and my other Brynje layers have become some of my favorite base layers and I would highly and enthusiastically recommend them to anyone. They don't make anything like this in the USA and it was worth every penny to have them shipped overseas. With Rhodri's help, it was easy and not as expensive as I would have first thought. Nordiclife has a customer for life. Best customer service I've ever experienced.
