We've been testing out these socks this winter, but they have a pedigree that precedes them, having been used extensive for cold weather races like the Iditarod Trail Invitational, Arctic Ultra and Yukon Ultra.

We've also used them for winter cycling, and they performed just as well.

You don't need to stop running outdoors when it gets cold, Drymax Cold Weather Running Crew socks are your answer for keeping your feet warm during winter running!

In cold or freezing temperatures, moisture is the skin’s worst enemy. Moisture pulls heat away from the skin 23 times faster than air. This can reduce skin temperature so rapidly that wet feet feel painfully cold. Wet skin makes the feet much more susceptible to frostbite and non-freezing cold injury. Staying dry is critical to remaining warm, comfortable, and safe in cold weather and no sock has proven to keep feet drier than Drymax technology socks.

The wind chill factor often causes the front part of the leg and the toes to become the coldest; therefore a third layer of Drymax fiber insulation was added along the Cold Weather sock’s leading edge (front of the leg and foot).

Drymax fibers have the best thermal conductivity rating. This means Drymax Cold Weather Running socks keep the skin warmer because they draw less heat away from the skin than socks made with other fibers.

Drymax technology Explained

 FEATURES

3D ADVANCED FIT Drymax's five sock sizes fit because they were developed on special 3D shaped foot models. Each size sock includes a (S, M, L, XL, or XXL) color size mark for easy match-up after laundering.

ANTI-BLISTER SYSTEM Several features work together as an anti-blister system to actively prevent the formation of blisters. 1) Exceptional 3D fit, 2) Five sock sizes, 3) Seamless insides, 4) An instep-hugging arch band, and 5) Because Drymax socks stay dry, the skin stays dry too; therefore blisters normally caused by sweat or sweat vapor are prevented.

ACTIVE ODOR CONTROL The MicroZap® antimicrobial in the Drymax® Fibers is a silver - zirconium phosphate ceramic ion-exchange resin. It fights odor-causing bacteria, helping keep socks odor free. Not a topical treatment; MicroZap is molecularly infused into our Drymax fibers. Being non-migratory and non-toxic, MicroZap provides long term Active Odor Control.

LONG LASTING COMFORT, DURABILITY & LOOKS The special fibers used in our Drymax Socks have a comfortable springiness and do not get stiff, shrink or lose shape over time. They are designed to last a long time using the highest quality fibers, and abrasion resistant nylon fiber reinforcements in the normal wear areas.

COOLER FEET - All drymax Running socks with the exception of the Cold Weather and Trail socks, possess top and/or bottom air vents; designed to work with the built-in vent systems in the latest generation of breathable running shoes. These vents release heat/sweat vapors to keep feet cooler, drier and more comfortable

Great socks

I find these socks work well in colder, wet weather. They don't keep my feet dry (for context, I run around the peak district in winter for multiple hours at a time), but they definitely slow down how fast they get wet, and by the time they do it's much less cold than normal, and my feet stay warmer for much longer. Will definitely use these on a big winter race coming up in January.

Feet saved

Really good socks - probably a bit long (XL) but for the warmth I would recommend
