Used alone, or in conjunction with a liner sock, these will keep you warm when the mercury drops.

A sock for serious adventurers, the Explorer Merino Endurance Boot sits at an ideal height for boots with an extended ankle cuff. Featuring cushioning throughout for warmth and engineered advanced zonal padding system for support and comfort, this is the ultimate sock for long or multiday high mountain and winter expeditions. Merino Performance Fusion Technology provides resilient padding, balanced insulation, moisture wicking and outstanding durability for all day comfort. The Performance Fit is close and supportive and won't slip down, or bunch in your footwear no matter how long the day. The toe box is closed with an insulated Flat Toe Seam to prevent cold spots and the sock is kept securely in place with an Elasticated Arch and 3D-shaped heel cup. Built on a structure of Lycra® and set by our Thermo Fit process ensures the sock returns to its original shape and size after every wash. Tested by Explorers in the coldest, most extreme places on this planet this sock delivers more comfort and warmth than any other Bridgedale sock and is the ideal choice for cold-weather expeditions.

FANTASTIC OUT OF THE PKT BUT AFTER A 30 DEG WASH "felt" TIGHTER.

THEY WERE SUPER SOFT & WARM & COMFORTABLE OUT OF THE PACKET..............& I WORE THEM FOR WEEKS ENJOYING THEM & PLANNED ON BUYING ANOTHER TEN PAIRS = BUT I HAD A FEELING A 30 DEG WOOL WASH "MAY" ALTER THEM AS IT DID MY OLD WOOL 'COMMANDO' SOCKS YEARS AGO MAKING THEM ALL TIGHT & UNWEARABLE & ONLY FIT FOR THE CHARITY SHOP NOW...........
....... IN THE MACHINE AT 30 DEG C ON A WOOL WASH THE WEAVE HAS BECOME TIGHTER & REALLY AGGRAVATES THE SENSATION OF DIABETIC NEUROPATHY IN MY TOES = HENCE ONLY THREE STARS. I TRIED STRETCHING THEM & THEY DO NOT APPEAR TOO SMALL? & NOT SHRUNK - JUST FEELS TIGHTER IN THE WEAVE & IT DRIVES ME NUTS.POSSIBLY MUST BE JUST NERVE DAMAGE IN ME = I MAY HAVE TO CUT OFF THE TOE SECTION & STOP IT UNRAVELING BY SEWING THE ENDS WITH WOOL??? OR CHARITY SHOP.

SO MY VERY BEST ADVICE IS TO BE SUPER CAUTIOUS & WASH THEM IN COLD WATER WATER BY HAND WITH WOOL DETERGENT FROM THE SHOPS. & THEY SHOULD BE FINE = I MAY RISK BUYING ONE MORE PAIR & DOING THAT JUST TO CHECK BEFORE I BUY ANOTHER TEN(=£260).

BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY ! & ALL WOOL CAN SUFFER FROM THIS PROBLEM NOT EXCLUSIVE TO THE BRIDGEDALE EXPLORER SOCKS !
