An extremely comfortable and warm BC-boot with an integrated gaiter that is reinforced with Kevlar on exposed areas. The boot has been developed specifically for expeditions and long journeys on skis in extremely cold conditions. Polar A/P/S also has a specially developed last that ensures you have room for liner or wool inner boots and if necessary vapour barrier socks. It also has extra insulation within the sole and liner. The boot has been used on a wide range of expeditions, both to the North and South Poles, however, it is also suitable for simpler expeditions in cold conditions. Liners or wool inner boots and vapour barrier socks are purchased separately. We recommend buying the boot 2 sizes larger than normal for use during extreme conditions.

EXP GAITER (BC)

Integrated gaiters made from durable Cordura. Provides extra insulation during extreme conditions and protects against snow. Extra reinforcement on the inside.

Sole Technologies

BC SOLE

Rottefella BC sole provides optimum stability, which contributes to good control in rough terrain and in variable snow conditions. The sole has good insulation properties.

STANDARD L-BOARD

A moisture absorbing insole with insulating properties to keep your feet dry and warm.

INSULATOR INSOLE

An anatomically designed insole made from insulating felt as well as breathable materials with good absorbency that keep your feet warm and dry. The sole has an antibacterial surface that helps prevent odours.

Fit & Support

EXPEDITION FIT

A specially developed fit that provides enough space for wool inner boots or two pairs of polar socks.

COMBO LACING SYSTEM

A lacing system that combines open and lockable hooks. Allows for individual adjustment of the ankle and forefoot.

Other Features

EASY ENTRY LOOPS

Easy entry loops make the boots easy to take on and off.

INTERNAL HEEL COUNTER

Heel reinforcements made of plastic that provide better support. An ergonomic and stable heel cap locks the foot in the boot, anchors it to the midsole and reduces the risk of blisters.

TOE PROTECTOR

A rubber-coated reinforcement that protects the boot from abrasion.

SNOW CRUST PROTECTOR

Extra layers of full grain leather that protect the lower part of the boot, which is particularly prone to wear, especially in snow with an ice crust.

Very comfortable

The Alfa boots were very comfortable and worn for the first time on a trip to the Arctic. The inner liners were very warm ( in temperatures below minus 28. deg C ) and extremely comfortable. Absolutely no pressure ares or rubs anywhere. Rodri from Nordilife was excellent with advising the correct fitting . Highly recommend. They are gortex so when my daughter put her foot through the ice, her foot remained dry. Absolutely crucial out there .

Worth every penny

Used these with the Intuition liners over a 600km+ Greenland crossing and had no issues whatsoever. Not being an experienced skier, I was cautious about spending the money on these boots. But after trying on several sizes with Rhodri I realised these boots were of great quality and I'd be kicking myself later if I went for anything less. They performed fantastic over every type of terrain, with Ousland ski's, crampons and just on foot over rocky terrain. Back home now they look like the pin and boot could do the crossing all over again.

Rhodri's advice and experience is second-to-none. I doubt I would have been able to get this right if it wasn't for his time and help.
