The Brynje Expedition Jacket has been three years in the making. Trialled on Expeditions, and especially on the Amundsen race in Norway, and worn by the winning team in 2018. With what has been called the “Best Hood available today”, the jacket has been through several iterations to get it as close too perfect as possible.
The jacket is wind and waterproof and breathable, the jacket is made of Shoeller® WB fromula 3-layer fabric with C-change hydrophilic membrane, water column 20 000 mm. The jacket is treated with Schoeller 3XDRY impregnation ensuring a water-repellent surface for a long time.
This materials used are Bluesign approved.

I’ve unashamedly fallen in love with this jacket. After years of using a well known make of ‘winter’ shell jacket on ski tours I finally pushed the boat out and bought the Brynje Expedition Jacket. The only mistake I made was waiting so long. The jacket has had a fair test over 3 weeks around the arctic circle in Scandinavia and not once did I feel I couldn’t rely on this jacket. I heat up easily but the C-change hydrophilic membrane seemed to work plus there are good, long under arm vents. The hood is probably the best I’ve ever experienced and fitting my existing fur ruff was super easy. I really appreciate the extra length in the body and arms. As an added benefit that I like the jacket is rustle free and stretchy. Build quality is excellent. Ok it’s a bit heavy and bulky for most UK outings compared to other offerings but if it’s a winter mountain backpacking trip or all day gnarly walk where I want to feel secure, I’ll definitely be taking this along. Thanks to Rhodri for the advice and letting me try before I bought.

I recently wore the expedition 2.0 jacket on a multi-day, winter, Scottish backpacking trip. This was over 35k and included the 5 Scottish 4000' peaks in the Cairngorms.
I was working hard, carrying 20kg over some big climbs. I wore the jacket all the time and experienced next to no inner dampness. A conventional shell such as Event would have been much damper. So at the summits I could then do up the vents and not feel damp and cold. I have continued to wear it for dog walks in the cold weather, always keeping me comfortable. Has to be experienced.

Fantastic jacket in every detail, wish I would have bought one sooner. My fur ruff was easy to fit, good strong velcro. Arm length was spot on (unlike the Norrona Arktis I returned a week earlier). Super happy.
