Introduced in 2014, the Expedition Tour 170 has been a workhorse for many expeditions from Greenland to Antarctica. Developed for hard work in both the Arctic and Antarctic, it’s a real hybrid pulk for man hauling or kiting, doing its job, effectively and reliably.
This is the closest thing to an allround expedition pulk.
The high and rounded bow section provides strength and excellent glide through tough ice conditions. The overall dimensions distribute the weight, giving less friction when moving on sea ice.
Stability is a prominent feature of the 170, created by giving it a width of 63cm.
The design of the bottom of the pull, in combination with the unique runners, also add to the stability and glide of this pull…….it’s not simply about how much your pull weighs! Glide, cause by friction is also a major factor
Therefore the Expedition Tour 170 works well in combination with kites, on days with favourable winds.
It’s the first model that is designed to fit perfectly to the new Acapulka runner system, which is unique.
The milled runners increases the gliding abilities significantly compared to flat runner surfaces that have been the standard until now. Experienced Polar Explorers were astonished of its effects, when testing these runners.
The Expedition Tour 170 can be stacked together for transport and storage.
